Canyons Book Club Fall Series:
Tragi-Comic Relief

Smart, funny literary fiction is the focus of the book club this fall. We’ll read and meet to discuss four books, beginning at the September gathering with Jonathan Franzen’s The Corrections.

The October selection will be Meg Wolitzer’s dark and bitingly funny The Wife. For November, it’s Jerry Stahl’s I, Fatty, his “autobiography” of doomed film star Fatty Arbuckle. December will conclude the series with the humor cult classic A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.

All books are in print, with copies available at the Silverado Library.

The Canyons Book Club will meet the second Monday of the month, beginning 7 pm, September 11, 2006 at the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary.

To enroll, and for further information, see www.smrpd.or or contact Silverado Modjeska Recreation and Parks at (714) 649-0132 and leave a message or contact facilitator Andrew Tonkovich at atonkovi@uci.edu.
