Cougar

(Puma concolor)

The cougar , also known as mountain lion or puma, is the largest of our wild cats. A male may weigh up to 160 pounds. Their most common prey is the mule deer but they will eat coyotes, opossums, raccoons, bobcats and even other mountain lions on occasion. Generally they are shy and elusive but attacks on humans have occurred in California.
